On August 13th, 2009 the NYS Commissioner of Health issued an emergency regulation mandating HCWs (healthcare workers) in private and public hospitals to be vaccinated annually against the seasonal flu and any other flus ie novel H1N1 (Swine flu).  This was legally challenged by PEF lawers who won an injuction against the Emergency Regulation.

 

January 2010 Update.  Recently learned that NYS Commissioner of Health is again trying to initiate regulations mandating flu vaccines for NYS HCWs.  Keep vigilant.  Keep alert. Let me know ASAP if you see or here any thing regarding this issue.    Peter
